iTKO and Harris Partner to Pursue Federal Programs

iTKO has formed a strategic partnership with Harris Corporation, a Fortune 200 IT provider, to provide automated enterprise testing, validation and virtualization solutions for Harris' Defense and Federal Program businesses. The agreement is intended to enable Harris to deliver higher quality and more collaborative command-and-control systems, net-centric operation centers, and enterprise services to its government customer base.

The agreement extends previous informal engagements with Harris, and will help the two companies provide more structured go-to-market program for approaching federal and Department of Defense (DoD) accounts, Derick Townsend, vice president of marketing of iTKO, tells 5 Minute Briefing. "iTKO's Lisa product suite appeals not just to federal and DoD, but also to commercial accounts," notes Townsend. "In fact, we sell the majority of our business to large enterprise customers, but with Harris we are focusing more on the federal and government side because that is where they have their strength."

iTKO's LISA product suite virtualizes dependent IT resources to provide on-demand accessibility and capacity for teams across the software lifecycle, the vendor says. LISA also provides continuous validation capabilities that build trust and reliability across federated operational systems through continual verification of functional and systems outcomes, most often in combination with existing policy enforcement and SOA governance infrastructures.

"For all of these customers, federal government customers and also the commercial ones, if you look at their very distributed, very heterogeneous, multi-tier mission-critical systems, they need to ensure quality across all of this complexity," says Townsend. Many of these systems, particularly these command control systems such as air traffic control systems and financial trading systems all also undergo a lot of change, he points out. "Because of the complexity and because of the amount of change, there are several different potential points of failure and LISA is very good at assuring the quality and agility of these very complex, modern applications and systems."

iTKO says that its LISA product suite can lower quality assurance costs, shorten release cycles, reduce risks, and eliminate critical development and testing constraints by virtualizing dependent IT resources to provide on-demand accessibility and capacity for teams across the software lifecycle. LISA also provides continuous validation capabilities that build reliability across federated operational systems through continual verification of functional and systems outcomes, most often in combination with existing policy enforcement and SOA governance infrastructures.
