Informatica Cloud Summer 2011 Provides Enterprise-Class Security and Management for Cloud Integration

Informatica Corporation has announced Informatica Cloud Summer 2011, a major new release of its cloud integration service. The Informatica Cloud Summer 2011 release enables universal cloud integration and unified hybrid deployment for both on-premise and cloud deployments. All customers will be upgraded to the new release on May 21.

According to Darren Cunningham, vice president, Informatica Cloud Marketing at Informatica, the new release provides ease of use cloud features to enhance the simplicity of learning, deploying, administering, managing and configuring cloud integration.

For example, there are now customizable views to enable users to define custom queries based on personal preferences and manage multiple cloud data integration tasks, and flexible job scheduling to allow users to define blackout periods, such as non-business hours, to optimize performance and job processing.

In addition, he says, the new release also offers enterprise-class functionality by providing increased levels of security and user management to protect data access, improve governance and enable control for IT managers who seek to be more involved in cloud deployments that may have started at a departmental level.

Providing increasing functionality for larger organizations, the new release offers fine-grained access controls that enable Informatica cloud administrators to establish role and group permissions and profiles, delegated administration so that customers and partners can easily provision and manage multiple Informatica Cloud tenants, and two-factor authentication to enforce IP address restrictions such as enabling logins only from specific IP address ranges in addition to login name and password.

Informatica Cloud recently received the Best of AppExchange Award for data integration from Saleforce.com customers for the third year in a row. It is used by 1,300 companies and is now running thousands of jobs and processing millions of transactions on a daily basis, says Cunningham.  For a recording of a webcast focused on the new release, visit the Informatica site
