1.3 Million Updates a Second and Getting Faster
Posted Oct 19, 2009 - October 19, 2009 Issue Print Version     Page 1of 1

IBM announced that it set a new technology benchmark for the financial services industry, delivering the company's fastest recorded throughput performance and lowest network latency on Reuters Market Data System. The measurements, achieved using the IBM BladeCenter server, enable financial services firms to process 1.3 million market data updates per second, while maintaining a latency of less than one millisecond, enabling faster decision making with an infrastructure that can respond quickly to changing market conditions and events in real time. The developments in the financial services space, of course, will inevitably emerge in other industries as well.
