Private Clouds—'Supersets' of Virtualization
Posted Jul 20, 2009 - July 20, 2009 Issue Print Version     Page 1of 1

SHARE's recent survey on Total Enterprise Virtualization, conducted earlier this year by Unisphere Research, found that companies with strong virtualization strategies are more likely to be adopting cloud computing as well. Megan Stabler, principal of strategic marketing for BMC Software, validated these observations with us. "One way to think about a private cloud strategy is as a 'superset' of a virtualization management strategy," she explains. "By that, I mean that virtualization management is fundamental to success in the cloud. We believe that these different environments are inter-connected, so by using a single set of management tools, enterprises can standardize and simplify processes."
