BDNA, a provider of comprehensive technology asset information, is entering an agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop BDNA Cloud Asset Insights, a new solution that provides discovery and normalization for commercial software assets deployed on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2).

BDNA Cloud Asset Insights collects, normalizes, enriche,s and reports on software assets residing on Amazon EC2 instances as well as the instance type.

The solution captures short-lived or ephemeral instances and the software running on them. Cloud Asset Insights reduces operational cost and financial risk to simplify cloud management by providing greater insight and transparency into asset technology spend and opportunities in the cloud. Data enriched with market intelligence provides clean, accurate, and relevant data to drive business decisions.

“We’re delighted to release Cloud Asset Insights for AWS,” said Walker White, president of BDNA. “By optimizing visibility of assets on the cloud, this new capability will help companies lower their audit risk and improve application governance on AWS. They will also have higher confidence reporting through tight integration with Amazon EC2 Systems Manager to capture information even on short-lived instances.”

Other capabilities of Cloud Asset Insights includes collecting software asset data on Amazon EC2 instances, identifying Amazon EC2 instance type and characteristics, delivering normalized, enriched asset inventory information and allows rapid ROI through service-based deployment and reporting.

Amazon EC2 is a web service that provides secure, resizable compute capacity in the cloud. Using Amazon EC2, companies can launch as many or as few virtual servers as needed, configure security and networking, and manage storage.
