OpenText, a provider of enterprise information management (EIM) solutions, has introduced OpenText Microsoft SharePoint Services (SPS) for Extended ECM for SAP Solutions. This integration is designed to help deliver comprehensive governance and compliance assurance capabilities to customers globally.
The SPS solution from OpenText enables users of Microsoft SharePoint to work with content managed by OpenText Extended ECM for SAP Solutions, facilitating an integrated approach to enterprise ECM (enterprise content management). “We are basically providing a combination of three different solutions from three different vendors and delivering it as a single product,” said Lubor Ptacek, vice president at OpenText.
OpenText Extended ECM for SAP Solutions has allowed an overall lower degree of risk while simultaneously increasing efficiencies and access to information, according to the company. This solution provides a full view into systems, allowing companies to eliminate the need for various methods of reporting, archiving and record management within companies. The ability of SPS to function in a resourceful manner has created a cost-effective, end-to-end process for a firm’s ECM strategy. “This particular solution actually integrates the world of the SAP ERP with the world of SharePoint and it enables that kind of single view of the information on a single screen,” Ptacek explained.
The OpenText Microsoft SharePoint Services (SPS) for Extended ECM for SAP Solutions is endorsed by both SAP and Microsoft and, according to OpenText, it has been in long-term partnerships with both SAP and Microsoft SharePoint, with the integrations between them going back over a decade.
