Panzura Freedom Cloud NAS Enables Consolidation of Data on the Google Cloud Platform

Panzura, a provider of enterprise hybrid cloud NAS and multi-cloud data management, has launched Panzura Freedom Cloud NAS on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Marketplace. According to the vendor, Panzura Freedom replaces traditional NAS with scalable and durable cloud attached storage (CAS) without sacrificing performance or re-writing applications running in the data center, allowing customers to consolidate their unstructured data across data islands into "a single source of truth" in GCP.

“By bringing Panzura Freedom NAS to GCP Marketplace, Google Cloud customers can cost effectively consolidate their growing volumes of machine generated data, such as 4K video, 3D images, IoT data, log data and other unstructured content into the Google Cloud,” said Jason McKinney, Panzura SVP of Alliances and Channels. “This is also ideal for a wide variety of new hybrid cloud storage use cases, including rendering for media and content creation, processing genomics for life sciences, running simulations for financial services, storing and analyzing medical images for healthcare, collaborating in real-time globally on large CAD/CAM projects and more.”

The Panzura hybrid cloud data management platform is a complete solution to consolidate and manage the growth of unstructured NFS, SMB and object data into the cloud. The software-defined platform includes Freedom NAS and Mobile for primary data consolidation, real-time collaboration, cloud backup and anywhere, any device access. Freedom NAS is backed by Panzura CloudFS, a seventh generation, enterprise global file system purpose built for the cloud. In addition, Freedom Mobile is an enterprise file synch and share (EFSS) application available on Android and IOS, and provides native integration to Panzura CloudFS using the same active directory policies. Panzura Freedom can be deployed on-premise, hybrid or in GCP Marketplace.
