TIBCO Spotfire 6 Advances Mobile and Contextual Analytics

TIBCO Software introduced the latest version of its data discovery and visualization platform, TIBCO Spotfire 6.0, which includes enhancements and new products that offer greater automation,  better contextualization, and expanded deployment opportunities.

Addressing the increasing consumerization of IT andas well as the needs of mobile workforces, Spotfire 6.0 offers an updated web client now called TIBCO Spotfire Consumer, which presents up-to-date key performance indicators on a comprehensive range of mobile devices supporting capabilities such as offline KPI monitoring, contextual drill down and social collaboration. Support is provided for mobile phones, tablets, and laptops for iOS, Android, and Windows 8 operating systems.

Spotfire 6.0 also allows faster and easier visualization, exploration and analysis of data in the context of geographic information and maps. Users are able to expand situational understanding through the use of multi-layered maps, automatic geo-coding, and data overlay.

Offering an alternative to simple dashboards and advanced applications, Spotfire 6.0 provides a new web application, TIBCO SpotfireBusiness Author, that allows business users can visually explore and interact with data, whether residing in a simple spreadsheet or dashboard, a database, or a predefined analytic application.

TIBCO Spotfire Event Analytics is a new product that allows enterprises to automate the tracking and identification of new trends or outliers in business data, as they are generated. This real-time monitoring, powered by TIBCO’s event-processing technologies, triggers the automatic creation of analytic applications to enable management by exception, providing data analysts and decision-makers with information as it develops, to further monitor important processes, such as quality control, customer churn, and productivity. The combination of big data streams with analytics helps promote continuous improvement for the business and saves time for the analyst to deliver value to the business.

Finally, TIBCO Spotfire Cloud is a new set of cloud services for enterprises, work groups, and personal use, that provides a secure full-featured version of Spotfire in the cloud to analyze and collaborate on business insights, whether or not the data is hosted. For project teams seeking data discovery as a service, TIBCO Spotfire Cloud Work Group provides application-building tools so distributed teams can visually explore data and deploy analytic applications at low cost.  For individuals, TIBCO Spotfire Personal is a web-based client for quick data discovery needs.
