Teleran Announces Release for Managing Analytics and Large Data Warehouses on System z

Teleran Technologies, a provider of business intelligence (BI) and data warehouse management software, announced Release 4.2 of its flagship software for managing BI and analytical applications and data warehouses on IBM System z.

Teleran's latest release for System z provides real-time controls that block inappropriate queries from reaching System z and wasting system resources and driving up System z licensing costs. These controls also deliver instantaneous messages back to the user that guides them how to be more efficient with their system use.

"Protecting the System z cost model to ensure that it remains a cost-effective and resource-efficient platform for BI applications and data warehouses is critical to both CIOs and business management," says Chris Doolittle, vice-president of marketing for Teleran. "Teleran's Release 4.2 for System z delivers key capabilities that give confidence to management, enabling them to take advantage of System z scalability and performance without the fear of runaway costs."

Teleran's Release 4.2 for System z also includes a "business context" feature that allows IT management to apply an organizational context to system use. By understanding what actual business users are doing within which business units and departments, IT management can tie back system use to business objectives and justify ongoing IT budgets and new IT investments, the vendor says. Teleran's BI and data warehouse management solutions are targeted to distributed and mainframe systems as well as shared services and cloud-based environments.
