Zerto Announces “Disaster Recovery as a Service” in IBM Cloud

Zerto, a data center continuity solutions provider, announced a business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) solution that sits on IBM Cloud.  The new solution offers turnkey BC/DR capabilities that protect critical IT infrastructure, and supports multiple use cases including data center migrations.

Running in IBM Cloud, this solution automates all aspects of disaster recovery for the virtual workload to create a disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS), using Zerto Virtual Replication.

“The significance of this space is underpinned by the growing complexity of IT infrastructures and the natural and man-made threats to them, balanced with a mission critical need to protect them to ensure uninterrupted business operations,” said Paul Zeiter, president of Zerto.

Customers with production workloads running in virtualized infrastructures can now achieve application recovery time objective (RTO) “of minutes” using the dedicated IBM Cloud infrastructure, the vendor claimed. In addition, a recovery point objective (RPO) “of seconds” can be achieved to maintain complete control over DR, with automation and orchestration and on-demand recovery and DR testing.

The service is now available across IBM Cloud’s global footprint of data centers to enable customers to protect their virtual applications from on-premises, bare metal servers, database, and virtual machine into the cloud, as well as protecting their critical applications.

IBM Cloud delivers access to a public, private and hybrid cloud services, as part of its portfolio of cloud services across 46 global data centers.
