Zetta.net.net, a provider of backup, disaster recovery and archiving technology, has released Zetta.net DataProtect for NetApp, a new solution for cloud-based offsite backup, replication and disaster recovery for environments that use NetApp filers. According to the company, DataProtect for NetApp does not require any additional hardware, tapes or third-party software, and can deploy an offsite backup solution in less than 30 minutes.
Zetta.net DataProtech for NetApp delivers open replication, allowing users to browse backup files in the cloud prior to recovery for more granular and faster restores. “We’re the first enterprise-grade cloud service that combines four components in one service: offsite backup to local disk, offsite backup to the cloud, archiving, and disaster recovery,” Chris Schin, vice president of products, tells 5 Minute Briefing. Users are also expected to benefit from flexible recovery that allows recovery of backup data to other servers or filers instead of having to restore to another NetApp system. Incremental forever backups enable Zetta to detect incremental changes in the data and update the existing offsite backup copy.
