AccuRev Inc. and Smart Bear Software announced a technology partnership designed to improve software development process collaboration and efficiency. The combined solution integrates Smart Bear's Collaborator tool—which facilitates peer code review—with AccuRev's process-centric software change and configuration management capabilities. The integration of these two offerings is intended to enhance real-time collaboration for software teams that conduct code reviews, with particular benefits for those working on Agile, geographically distributed, offshore or parallel projects.

CommVault announced availability of Simpana 8, a new release of its enterprise data management software, which includes advances in recovery management, data reduction, virtual server protection, and content organization. The company's largest software release to date, Simpana 8 is the result of 18 months of development and includes more than 300 enhancements and 140 newly added product features, CommVault said.

IBM revealed a series of new products, services, clients and partnerships for the next phase of its "Blue Cloud" initiative. The cross-company portfolio of cloud computing offerings for business includes server capacity on demand, online data protection, and Lotus e-mail and collaboration software.

Voltaire Ltd., a provider of network solutions for data centers, announced that it is designing a next-generation, high-performance 40 Gb/s InfiniBand switch module for IBM BladeCenter. The new custom switch will deliver 100% faster InfiniBand connectivity to accelerate performance of applications running on BladeCenter, the vendor said.
