AT&T and IBM are teaming up to combine their strengths in cognitive computing and global connectivity to create open standards-based tools on the IBM Cloud to enable developers to more quickly build and implement Internet of Things-based solutions.

Compuware and ConicIT are partnering to help a new generation of IT ops staff proactively resolve emerging mainframe issues before they impact application service levels. By integrating ConicIT's predictive mainframe analytics and Compuware Strobe's visually intuitive troubleshooting intelligence, the two companies are empowering IT staff to identify and resolve a full range of application performance problems.

EMC has announced that, based on a preliminary vote tally from the Special Meeting of Shareholders held on July 19, EMC shareholders approved the merger agreement among Denali Holding Inc., Dell Inc., Universal Acquisition Co., and EMC, and approved the other two proposals described in EMC's proxy statement relating to the meeting.

CSC and IBM have announced a collaboration in which IBM is providing its Cloud Managed Services for z Systems - IBM Cloud for z - and associated mainframe hardware, software, monitoring and governance support to CSC clients who are moving to the cloud.

IBM reported revenue of $20.2 billion in the second-quarter 2016, reflecting 12% growth over the same quarter a year ago. The company cites its burgeoning cloud business as the main driver of this growth.
