BMC, a provider of enterprise IT solutions, has introduced BMC Digital Workplace, a cloud-based service intended to provide a more highly integrated and digitally capable workplace for IT and other departments. Available both in the cloud and on-premises, BMC Digital Workplace enables IT, HR, Legal, facility management, and any other line-of-business groups to offer employees one-stop-shopping for the tools and information they need to do their work effortlessly.

CA Technologies has added new solutions and capabilities within its API Management portfolio that are intended to help developers, enterprise architects and digital leaders create and deploy microservices—and manage the APIs that connect and orchestrate microservices.

To help advance the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and cognitive solutions in the enterprise, IBM has launched a collaborative development initiative with Lightbend, a provider of a reactive application development platform. The companies say that the resulting joint solutions will provide a complete toolchain to help Java and Scala developers build and deploy AI and cognitive applications in both on-premises and cloud environments.

Companies using Cisco UCS servers can now manage their data-intensive workloads on-premises with the IBM Cloud Object Storage (COS) System, now available as a VersaStack Solution for Cloud Object Storage. According to IBM, this pre-validated, tested, and supported solution is designed to offer storage for unstructured data for use cases such as active archive, backup, content repository, enterprise collaboration, and cloud application development.

Vision Solutions, Inc., a provider of business resilience solutions for IBM Power Systems and a portfolio company of Clearlake Capital Group, L.P., has completed the acquisition of Enforcive Systems, Ltd. (formerly BSafe), a provider of IT security and compliance management solutions that support IBM z/OS, IBM i, IBM AIX, Windows, and Linux platforms.
