Aleri and Coral8, two providers of complex event processing (CEP) software and solutions, today announced that they have joined forces to expand the reach and increase the speed of innovation for next-generation, real-time event processing technology and solutions. The combined product family will offer a software suite for developing, implementing and delivering real-time analytics and business intelligence.

Bus-Tech, Inc., a provider of mainframe virtual tape solutions, has certified the interoperability of its Mainframe Data Library (MDL) with Quantum's DXi7500 disk-based backup and replication system. The combined solution offers the ability to take advantage of Quantum's flexible policy-based deduplication technology and provide data centers with a single backup vehicle for both mainframe and open system server environments.

Clerity Solutions, Inc., a provider of mainframe migration and modernization solutions, has announced a program offering customers free 30-day trials of its Clerity Service Builder and Clerity Web Connect software products, first released this past November. These software solutions make it easy for legacy CICS, IMS, and UniKix assets to play a strategic role in service-oriented architecture (SOA) and Web services initiatives.

At a new IBM online conference on SOA and the economy, Sandy Carter, IBM vice president for SOA, BPM and WebSphere Marketing, said that successfully navigating today's tough economy requires developing ways to measure business agility.

Progress Software Corporation, a provider of application infrastructure software, announced the latest release of its Actional software, intended to provide reliability to business transactions. Progress Actional 8.0 Enterprise, the vendor says, delivers "business transaction assurance" by providing full design-time to run-time application lifecycle validation, and execution-time visibility and control for distributed applications. The goal is to help businesses avoid losing a single important transaction, Progress says.
