Ian Abramson, president of the Independent Oracle Users Group, is traveling to Belgium in order to present the IOUG position on the pending acquisition of Sun by Oracle to the European Union's Competition Committee. Abramson, who will arrive in Brussels on Wednesday, was asked by Oracle, on behalf of the IOUG, to be a part of the company's presentation this week to the EU.

MicroStrategy, a provider of business intelligence software, has announced that several of its VAR partners have developed pre-built business intelligence applications for the JD Edwards World and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne user community using the MicroStrategy BI platform. Oracle's JD Edwards World and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne are suites of enterprise planning software.

Sypherlink, Inc., a data integration software and NIEM (national information exchange model) compliance provider, recently announced enhancements to its core Harvester software application version 6. Harvester is an application that accelerates information integration and data sharing by automating the discovery and mapping process. Now, Version 6 offers a new component, Harvester Integrator, to provide data movement capabilities, including extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data into target applications. This new component is available in a cloud-ready platform, providing customers a solution for accelerating their data integration projects while reducing project costs and related risk.

Talend, an open source data integration software provider, has announced the availability of Talend Integration Suite LCp (life cycle platform). This new enterprise data integration platform extends the Talend Integration Suite to provide Fortune 500 organizations with a broad set of enterprise features, ranging from automated testing and code validation to multi-environment project repository management, to better facilitate enterprise-wide data integration projects and deployments.
