Why Should Data Modelers Care About Business Processes?

TUESDAY, MAY 23 - 11am PT / 2pm ET

Data modelers are responsible for creating and maintaining the conceptual, logical and physical data models for an organization. These data models are used to define the data requirements that support the business goals, but business stakeholders often have difficulty understanding how these technical documents correlate to their business processes. In order to minimize this loss in translation, data modelers should work closely with business stakeholders to create business process models that will help both sides see how data is used in the organization. IDERA's Kim Brushaber will discuss the value that data modelers receive by incorporating business processes into their enterprise architecture.
