ISS Announces Middleware Components and Connectors for MultiValue

Integral Solutions & Systems (ISS), Valencia, Spain, has announced the availability of a complete suite of .NET and Java middleware products for MultiValue operating environments. According to the vendor, after five years of testing running on mission-critical production systems, the ISS Middleware Components have been significantly enhanced to fully support the latest development tools and are now available to all MultiValue customers directly from ISS at a fraction of the cost of similar products in the market. “Now we are ready to offer our products directly to the MultiValue community,” explained Manuel Beltran, president and chief technologist of ISS, in making the announcement.

According to the company, the ISS suite of connectivity products includes PickDP.NET - now available for Visual Studio .NET 2005 - and soon to be released for the “Orcas” release, Visual Studio .NET 2008. ISS also offers a similar product for Java developers called the ISS Java Data Provider, for developers who prefer Java as the preferred development environment. The ISS Pick Data Provider for .NET and ISS Java Data Provider products  are intended to enable the latest IDEs from Microsoft, Sun, IBM, Borland and others to natively access MultiValue data and execute Pick Basic subroutines with ease from .NET and Java respectively.

In addition, two new products are available. ISS Reporting Services Connector which is available in three-pack licenses, according to the vendor. The ISS Proxy Server, a high performance gateway connector, can handle multiple connections to PDP.NET or Java Data Provider in a persistent or non-persistent fashion, allowing more concurrent users to access database applications without the expense of purchasing additional database licenses.

“Last but not least, all our software development licenses are free,” said Beltran. “We hope we motivate all the vendors in the MultiValue space, to take our approach. The only way to grow the MultiValue market is to empower the MultiValue developer with more tools, so they can be more productive, competitive and sell more licenses.”
