Greenplum, a provider of database software for business intelligence, announced general availability of Greenplum Database 3.0 (G3). Greenplum Database is described by the company as the first open source-powered database software that can scale to support the demands of petabyte data warehousing, allowing organizations to analyze large amounts of business data 10 to 100 times faster and at lower cost than with traditional data warehouse solutions.
