What impact are compliance requirements having on SQL Server managers and professionals? What methods and technologies are data managers applying to address these requirements? The Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS) seeks your views and experiences in meeting corporate compliance mandates. | Data Point: Business Intelligence, Data Security and Data Recovery Top Challenges in 2007 |
Implementing business intelligence, improving data security and and beefing up data recovery and availability are the top challenges facing SQL Server professionals this year, according to the proprietary study The Rise of the Renaissance Data Professional - 2007 and Beyond, conducted by Unisphere Research in conjunction with PASS and sponsored by Embarcadero Technologies. Nearly 270 PASS members participated in the survey and 43 percent tabbed business intelligence/analytics as a top challenge for this year. Improving data security was picked by 36 percent, followed by data recovery and availability, which was named by 33 percent.
