Password security is one of the simplest ways to tighten up corporate networks. Yet, a recent industry survey finds even the most security-aware professionals admit laxity when it comes to security on their personal computing devices. Thirty-five percent revealed they just don't get around to using a password on their business phones and smartphones-only marginally better than the user population as a whole. Many phones and smartphones include data such as business emails and passwords. The survey also found that a third of IT professionals use their own personal mobile phone for work purposes even though the company specifically bans them for business use.
