Vipin Kataria is an IEEE Senior Member and Distinguished Fellow with over 20+ years of sophisticated expertise in designing, optimizing, and implementing scalable data solutions at the convergence of cloud architecture, machine learning, and IoT/Edge systems. He holds a Master's degree in Data Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Information Technology from WBUT College, and numerous industry certifications, positioning him uniquely to bridge hardware, software, and business domains.
Throughout his distinguished career, Vipin has helped high-profile companies—including Intel Corporation, Amazon, Aricent Technologies, and TCS—unlock their potential using data and AI to fuel innovation, enable informed decisions, and streamline critical business processes. At Intel, he built data platforms for the XMM Series Modem Platform that revolutionized development workflows and log triaging. At Amazon, he designed enterprise-grade cloud architectures that set new standards for scalability and reliability. His telecommunications solutions have enabled companies to move from legacy systems to contemporary, cloud-native architectures.
As Lead Architect - Data/ML at Picarro, Vipin creates high-performance, secure, and cost-effective data ecosystems for IoT/Sensor/Edge systems supporting environmental monitoring and hazardous gas detection for Fortune 500 companies. His work enables the processing, storage, and analysis of massive volumes of structured and unstructured sensor data in real-time, leveraging modern Lakehouse Architecture, advanced machine learning algorithms, and AI-driven predictive analytics to extract actionable insights. By applying best practices in data modeling, integration, ML pipeline orchestration, and advanced analytics, he has helped organizations improve data accessibility, compliance, and governance while driving measurable business transformation through intelligent automation and AI-powered decision-making systems.
