The era of Big Data and enterprise government regulation are driving considerable changes in how Financial Services companies manage and use the varied types of data they acquire and store. The legacy Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), and Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure used by companies today to create siloed data environments is too rigid to accommodate the demands for massive storage and analyses on a larger and wider variety of data.
