Kerner looks back at some of the year's highlights including the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the operating system's founding, as well as new kernels and distributions that advanced the state of Linux, new releases from Red Hat and Ubuntu, and the return of SUSE Linux as its own business unit, separate from Novell.
