NetApp Joins Founding Members HP, IBM, Intel, and Red Hat as OVA Governing Member

The Open Virtualization Alliance (OVA), a consortium committed to fostering the adoption of Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM), has announced that NetApp has joined the organization as a Governing Member.

Early on, NetApp recognized the importance and long-term impact of KVM by committing resources and providing integration via the ovirt.org, an open source data center virtualization management community initiative. This collaboration has also resulted in numerous solutions and integrations with virtualization and cloud solutions from HP, IBM, Intel, and Red Hat, as well as the OpenStack project.

"After being an active contributor and leader in the KVM community for several years, NetApp is now excited to take an instrumental role as an Open Virtualization Alliance governing member to further promote open customer solutions," said David Dale, Director of Standards, NetApp. Read more about NetApp's commitment to the KVM ecosystem here.

More than 200 technology companies have joined the OVA in total, delivering over a 20-fold growth in members since its launch
