Onsystex Extends Operations to Latin America; Appoints Ralph Breslauer to Board of Directors

Onsystex Corporation, which helps companies extend the reach and effectiveness of MultiValue applications, has announced that it has extended its operations by acquiring the development and outsourcing business of  EuphoriaNET, a global IT services company, to expand its outsourcing offering to include offshore development in Latin America.

The Onsystex / EuphoriaNET Latin America operations offer application development on all MultiValue database environments and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres and others, to Onsystex customers.

"Onsystex understands how crucial it is to find the right fit when working with offshore organizations, and EuphoriaNET's professionalism and extensive experience in MultiValue, relational, and newer database technologies, is just that for us," states Tim Spells, president of Onsystex. "They have a proven track record and we are excited about the opportunities this provides for our end user and valued added reseller clients."

EuphoriaNET's and Onsystex's technical expertise ranges from application design and custom software development, to migrations and enhancing existing business applications. The combined experience and knowledge of MultiValue languages, including Unibasic, System Builder, Redback, DesignBAIS and others, enables Onsystex to offer accessibility to technical resources with a diverse range of disciplines that include business intelligence and web development in Java and .NET using the latest development tools available in the market today. Project management will be based in the United States

"With our global focus and years of software project delivery, the alliance with Onsystex made perfect sense," says Marcello Escallôn of EuphoriaNET. "We look forward to continuing our track record of providing comprehensive technology solutions to the MultiValue market."

Separately, Onsystex also announced the appointment of Ralph Breslauer to the Onsystex board of directors. As executive vice president of System Builder Corporation, Breslauer worked with dozens of MultiValue platform vendors and hundreds of value-added resellers. According to Onsystex, following the acquisition of System Builder by UniData, Breslauer was vice president of product marketing and management responsible for all MultiValue products. Onsystex notes that Breslauer played an integral role in the merger of UniData with Vmark to form Ardent Software, and subsequently focused on the combined product set that targeted the MultiValue market. After Informix's acquisition of Ardent, Breslauer became vice president of marketing and business development where he was responsible for the company's U2 offerings on a global scale, adds Onsystex.

"In addition to 25 years of senior management experience in the technology market, Ralph has been a key figure in the MultiValue market going back to the 1980s," says Spells. "It is not only good for Onsytex to have such an experienced top level executive, but also for the overall MultiValue market."

Breslauer's most recent operating role was as CEO of Vertica Systems, Inc., a company co-founded by Dr. Michael Stonebraker, the main architect of the Ingres relational DBMS and the object-relational Postgres DBMS.
