Rocket Software is bolstering its commitment to MultiValue database development with the first new Rocket D3 product release since the company’s acquisition of the TigerLogic MultiValue business. According to the company, the release of D3 Linux 9.2 reflects its commitment to the rapidly evolving demands of customers using multiple operating systems to develop MultiValue databases.
“This product release is just the beginning of an exciting future made possible by the integration of the Rocket D3 development platform into our family of NoSQL MultiValue products,” said Roy Sanford, chief marketing officer of Rocket Software. “The D3 platform is widely regarded as an industry leader in enabling businesses to develop scalable database applications that seamlessly integrate with their existing systems. D3 Linux 9.2 represents another leap forward in giving organizations the ability to build custom solutions that can meet users’ ever-changing needs.”
In addition to its support of Linux, D3 Linux 9.2 includes file level encryption, SSL support, host authentication, enterprise licensing for up to 10 connections from a client to a shared single license, the auditing of item reads, and a Linux package dependency check to streamline installation of D3 Linux via Linux package verification during installation.
Rocket Unveils First Stage of SB/XA
Separately, Rocket also unveiled the first stage of its System Builder Extensible Architecture (SB/XA) Services, providing mobile and/or web enablement. This early program brings the ability to call non-interactive SB processes, including a new file read service, for use in the mobile world.
As mobile applications flourish, users need to be able to simply and efficiently bring U2-based applications to various devices in the fastest, most affordable way, according to Laura Pettett, product manager for U2 Tools, Rocket Software. The enhancements made to SB/XA let users reuse their existing business logic to save both time and effort when going mobile and beyond using our new services architecture, therefore letting their application developers focus on driving the right user experience as opposed to rebuilding the application from scratch.
