Actuate Announces Actuate Performancesoft Views

Actuate Corporation, a provider of rich internet applications for business intelligence, has announced the release of Actuate Performancesoft Views 8.1. Performancesoft Views is a fully featured performance management application that can accommodate a wide variety of performance management frameworks, and the 8.1 release provides increased flexibility and ease of integration with the BIRT and e.Spreadsheet offerings included in Actuate 10. It also builds upon Actuate's multi-purpose performance measurement solution that supports scorecarding and KPI initiatives for a variety of industries, and offers many new features.

Some of the key new features include an improved Report Server security extension for better Actuate iServer security integration and scheduling, separation of data access web services for a component based installation approach, and new link variables for seamless drill-thru capabilities from all Views interfaces. The new announcement is part of Actuate's ongoing program to deliver Performance Management applications with rich, interactive visualizations that facilitate the investigation and analysis required for performance improvement.

Nobby Akiha, senior vice president of marketing at Actuate, tells 5 Minute Briefing that "Actuate acquired Performancesoft three years ago, and has been steadily adding new capabilities such as briefing book reports, hierarchical views, and in-memory analysis. The 8.1 release is a fully rendered application that is completely integrated with the Actuate 10 Platform and enables actions such as root cause analysis and linked operational reporting all within one system without requiring re-authentication."

Additional features and enhancements in Views 8.1 include computed periods in maps (dynamic period selection allows maps to update seamlessly from period to period), an integrated installation process (simple wizard based install for all components of Views including the iServer), support for LDAP authentication over SSL, and new datamart information (weights and period status such as current, completed, and locked).
