Airbyte, the open data movement platform, is announcing a series of platform updates that drive greater data sovereignty as well as increased flexibility. At its core, this announcement aims to prepare data for AI, delivering a variety of capabilities that streamline compliance and control.
Airbyte delivers simplified, cost-efficient data movement across nearly any source and destination, ensuring that data is both timely and accurate, according to the company. Its latest features are designed to further enhance its data delivery in the AI era, addressing key quality and compliance challenges.
The first of Airbyte’s new capabilities introduces data sovereignty and compliance across different global regions, ensuring data control remains in the hands of the enterprise regardless of its location. This feature is paired with an enhanced, centralized user interface (UI), that forwards holistic, efficient management, according to Airbyte.
Airbyte is also unveiling the ability to synchronize data with its metadata, improving AI models’ reasoning and accuracy. Both structured records and unstructured files can be synchronized and transferred in the same data pipeline, preserving metadata and data relationships in the process. Ultimately, this leads to richer data context, enhancing the performance of large language models (LLMs) that utilize the data.
Finally, Airbyte now supports the direct loading of data volumes to BigQuery, with availability for ClickHouse, Snowflake, and more coming soon. With a new, streamlined method of loading data, Airbyte can reduce compute costs by 50-70%, and increase speed by up to 33%, depending on the use case.
“All these new capabilities are directed toward making data AI ready with more control, context, and speed because without data, there is no AI, and without the right data, AI is no good,” said Michel Tricot, CEO and co-founder of Airbyte. “Studies have shown that too often, AI projects are abandoned due to poor data quality and escalating costs. We help organizations command their data quickly and securely. Our enhanced data sovereignty feature will appeal to businesses in areas like Australia where compliance rules have been a challenge for many organizations, helping Airbyte expand in those regions.”
