Ataccama Debuts Headless MDM to Enhance Agentic Workflow

Ataccama, the data trust company, is providing headless master data management (MDM) via Ataccama ONE MDM 17.2. “Headless MDM enables AI agents and business applications to work with master data directly, through Ataccama’s MDM MCP server or its REST API,” according to a press release. The work occurs in the spaces that teams currently operate, which as in AI agents (such as Claude Code and Codex), as well as within the business workflows that directly call MDM. Given that the MDM MCP server reads and writes back, agents can ingest trusted golden records into business processes as well as take on stewardship work.

Additionally, this new release offers a new user interface that reflects operations done in a headless manner. This allows automated headless agentic processes to attribute a task that a human data steward would approve, while allowing for complete auditability. The benefit of headless MDM is that business process agents can query golden data records at the time of need (such as to check if a customer exists already before the start of onboarding). Via the MDM MCP server, an agent can access records, metadata, and tasks, matching proposals and matching rules, before proposing a resolution and then routing it to the correct person.

Controls are in place, as teams can choose the parameters of automation. As such an agent’s work can remain in draft, be offered to a supervisor for approval, or be published.

“With about a dozen source systems behind our golden record, from legacy on-premises platforms to modern cloud applications, Ataccama MDM processes many events a day and pushes trusted records to our consumers in real time, ensuring smooth analytical and operational
