Attivio Partners with QlikTech to Offer Self-Service BI and Unified Information Access

Information access provider Attivio has partnered with QlikTech to provide self-service BI and access to structured and unstructured information sources throughout the enterprise. With the merging of Attivio's Active Intelligence Engine (AIE) and QlikTech's QlikView Business Discovery platforms, the companies aim to  allow for enhanced business insights and better decision making by enabling users to access, manage and interact with any type of information, regardless of source or format.

According  to the vendors, organizations face many challenges in leveraging business intelligence, one of which is simply getting to the massive variety of information available. "Being able to bring all that [information] to bear in a very systematic, analytic way when it comes to visualizations is critical for businesses to make more complete decisions and gain competitive advantage," Rik Tamm-Daniels, vice president of technology, channels and alliances at Attivio, tells 5 Minute Briefing. The Attivio and QlikView platform is intended to remove much of the complexity typical of data warehousing stacks, making the organization more adaptable and agile.

QlikTech's business discovery solution QlikView provides intuitive user-driven analysis. "The exciting aspect about the QlikView environment is that they're a very strong partner community from a system integrator solution provider perspective." Tamm-Daniels explains.  Compatible with existing BI applications, QlikView Business Discovery adds insight for a broad set of users, faster analysis, mobility, an app-like model, remixability and reassembly and a social and collaborative experience.

Attivio has also signed contracts with other QlikView solution providers, such as Project Brokers and Visual Data Group, which broadens their market reach to include banking and financial services, life sciences, manufacturing, technology and the energy sector, and drive adoption of unified information access (UIA) and self-service BI globally. "It's really getting the power of UIA and access to unstructured to all of their customers and all the different solutions that have built on the QlikView platform," Tamm-Daniels states.
