Attunity Collaborates with Hortonworks to Provide Improved Big Data Integration with Apache Hadoop

Attunity Ltd., a provider of real-time data integration software, and Hortonworks, a commercial vendor promoting the development and support of Apache Hadoop, are collaborating to enable high-performance delivery of big data in and out of Apache Hadoop, thus providing enterprises with real-time business intelligence and analytics, both in the cloud and across data centers.

One of the challenges enterprises face today is in the ability to translate big data into actionable business intelligence, according to the companies. Attunity's new partnership with Hortonworks will allow organizations to do just that. Matt Benati, vice president of global marketing for Attunity, tells 5 Minute Briefing.

"We're the plumbing that connects this ‘mission-critical' data that's pouring into these enterprises with their business people," Matt Benati, vice president of global marketing for Attunity, tells 5 Minute Briefing.  "We make sure that the information is available wherever and whenever it is needed to run the analytics in real time." These tools, Benati explains, can impact not just bottom, but top-line revenues for an enterprise.

The big data analytics market is "immature," though "it's useful and it's growing," Benati says. By leveraging Hortonwork's Apache Hadoop acumen with Attunity's data integration skill set, enterprises will be able to unload enormous amounts of structured and unstructured data to the Apache Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). "The Hortonworks Data Platform makes Apache Hadoop more robust and easier to install, manage, and use while providing an open and stable foundation for enterprises to build and deploy big data solutions," he says. Coupled with Attunity's quick and easy-to-use tools, large volumes of data can be moved to allow for storing, processing, and analysis across data centers and in the cloud.

"Our vision is to be the industry standard when it comes to replicating information," Benati notes. "We want to make information available, and we want to make it pervasive through an enterprise so that enterprises are getting competitive advantages based on their information availability. That's what Attunity is all about."
