Build Intelligent, Scalable, and Autonomous Databases with MariaDB Cloud

Whether you're an enterprise architect, a DBA, or an application developer, a recent DBTA webinar offered a clear path to reducing complexity and accelerating innovation with MariaDB Cloud.

DBTA recently held a webinar, MariaDB Cloud & Agentic AI: Build Intelligent,Scalable, and Autonomous Databases, with Naman Shah, product leader for cloud at MariaDB, who discussed how to build, scale, and optimize applications with ease and intelligence.

According to Shah, database challenges for modern applications include difficulty with modernizing database performance at scale, idle standbys that incur costs and failovers that result in downtime, and rising costs that are shifting customers away from cloud.

The MariaDB Cloud Automated Database Management Platform accelerates cloud-native and AI app development.

Compared to AWS, MariaDB Cloud delivers industry leading performance and cost efficiency, from single instance to multi-node clusters, Shah explained.

The platform provides:

  • Continuous availability with zero compromises – can be deployed at every layer of stack, zones, regions, cloud providers, etc
  • Build global apps and deploy to any cloud replicas across regions and providers
  • Only “provisioned” cloud database to auto scale compute horizontally/vertically and auto scale storage
  • Increase developer productivity with AI and autonomous ops

Modern databases for AI go beyond vector search, he said. Vector search isn’t just for semantic search over unstructured data. It’s essential for making AI agents behave predictably when interacting with structured data.
