Cloudbrink Asserts ‘Write Once, Protect Anywhere’ Policy for Users, Devices, and Machines


Cloudbrink is introducing its OnGuard technology that extends a single Cloudbrink security and connectivity policy across users, devices, and machines—giving enterprises an alternative to deploying and managing separate Cisco products for secure access, internet security, AI security, and remote connectivity.

Cloudbrink is extending one policy and enforcement architecture to people and machines instead of adding another security silo, according to the company.

“Cisco has spent years asking customers to solve secure access by adding another product,” said Prakash Mana, CEO of Cloudbrink. “Umbrella, AnyConnect, Secure Access, and now AI Defense may all carry the Cisco logo, but enterprises still have to think about multiple technologies, policies, and operating models. We took the opposite approach: one software platform, one policy framework, and one experience for the user. OnGuard now extends that model beyond the user to the machine. We believe a single Cloudbrink platform can eliminate a significant portion of the Cisco secure-access stack.”

Traditional remote-access security typically begins with a user session. OnGuard allows Cloudbrink policy enforcement to begin when the device itself comes online—even before a user logs in—and continue independently of the user session, the company said.

Now Cloudbrink customers can apply a single configuration for all use cases of ZTNA, QOE, SWG, AI Security, multi-cloud connectivity, and digital experience monitoring.

Cloudbrink high-performance QOE and all security controls now extend to all devices, machines, and apps, alongside users, enabling customers to secure and improve performance uniformly for all corporate assets.

 Cloudbrink OnGuard features include:

  • Instant OnGuard Availability and Policy Enforcement: Cloudbrink secure overlay tunnels are now available separate from user context tunnels, ensuring that a Cloudbrink secure tunnel is available as soon as the machine comes online. No user intervention is necessary to start security policy enforcement.
  • Admin Authorization: Admin authorization can be required before any policy is enforced.
  • Admin Session Termination: Similarly, admins can block or terminate machine tunnels as needed.
  • Centralized Visibility: Visibility into user and machine activity on a single console so customers can correlate and triage any issues very quickly.
  • Selective Policy Control: Flexibility to enforce multiple policies for machine tunnels including Internet Security, AI Security, ZTNA access controls as well as Cloudbrink QOE.

In addition to securing assets, minimizing costs, and increasing ROI, consolidating security policy enforcement for users and machines on a single Cloudbrink platform means customers can ensure consistent policy enforcement across users and machines, and meet regulatory compliance requirements, said the vendor.
