Cube’s D3 Platform Reimagines Analytics with an AI Agent-Native Framework

Cube, the leading provider of semantic layer technology for modern data stacks, is unveiling D3, the first agentic analytics platform built on Cube’s universal semantic layer tech. As an agent-native platform, Cube merges its precise semantic layer with the productivity of agentic AI—rivaling traditional BI tools with bolted-on AI capabilities or a distinct lack of context.

AI has touched nearly every facet of business—analytics included. Yet, many solutions are falling victim to stitching AI technology into existing architectures, failing to adequately accommodate AI’s demands.

Cube’s D3 platform—a name born from a combination of “data” and “cube”—brings an agent-native architecture to transform the analytics space, offering AI data co-workers that automate and enhance analytics tasks. Semantically grounded and designed for agentic AI from the start, D3 empowers both data teams and business users to explore their data with governance, consistency, and explainability at the center.

“We built D3 to do what traditional BI couldn’t: combine the productivity of agents with the precision of semantics,” said Artyom Keydunov, CEO and co-founder of Cube. “D3 isn’t just a smarter BI tool—it’s a redefinition of the analytics experience. It allows businesses to scale insights and data work without compromising trust or control.”

Cube’s unique combination of AI agents and semantics powers AI with one of its most necessary prerequisites: context. As Keydunov explained, “You cannot do analytics without understanding the deep context—without understanding the business domain and knowledge.”

“Cube is really uniquely positioned because we have [spent] so many years investing in a semantic layer—understanding all the edge use cases, understanding how it can be applied, how…[it] can be queried, all these technical details,” continued Keydunov. “The idea is that, since we are [the] semantic layer company…that's a key ingredient here—our expertise is really unique.”

With D3’s semantic layer, AI agents are equipped with a robust understanding of an organization's data and business logic, scaling productivity without losing enterprise context. This allows them to intelligently augment data analysts’, data engineers’, and business users’ workflows, driven by natural language querying, governed semantic context, and full explainability.

Part of D3’s agent suite features two key agents: the AI Data Analyst and the AI Data Engineer. The AI Data Analyst delivers self-serve, natural language-driven analytics, generating trusted semantic SQL queries, visualizations, and interactive data apps in seconds; while the AI Data Engineer automates semantic model development from cloud data sources, continuously optimizing definitions and removing bottlenecks.

Importantly, these agents work in the space of data democratization, enabling both data teams and business users to benefit from D3’s transformative approach to analytics. Data teams are empowered to scale model maintenance, automate YAML generation, and delegate with oversight, while business users are afforded immediate answers on their data queries, can conversationally refine reports, and interact with agents from directly within their tools.
