Data Protection, Governance, and Reporting Enhanced in AvePoint’s DocAve Online SP3 Release

AvePoint, a provider of big data management, governance, and compliance software solutions for social collaboration platforms, announced the availability of DocAve Online Service Pack (SP) 3, the latest version of AvePoint’s software-as-a-service platform for Microsoft Office 365 management. The update features data protection, governance, and reporting enhancements to help companies improve the level of protection and control over their cloud-based assets.

According to the company, the policy enforcement enhancements in DocAve Online give companies the ability to have comprehensive governance policies that will address all-in cloud, hybrid, or on-premises deployments.

“Data continuity has always been about one thing: SLAs. It’s all about ensuring that data is always available and rapidly accessible,” notes Shyam Oza, AvePoint senior product manager.

“Data governance hasn’t changed either. It’s all about ensuring the right people have access to the right content and that the content is up to date and relevant. Organizations which blend the cloud into their data model today add an extra layer of availability, provide an abstracted but virtually centralized access point for broader reach, and ensure that the most recent data is disseminating into their workforce.”

DocAve Online SP 3, hosted on Windows Azure, ensures that all sites remain within established IT governance policies by monitoring sites around the clock, automatically adjusting settings and configurations across existing environments by utilizing out-of-the-box, configurable rules.  DocAve Online SP 3 enhances business continuity by restoring SharePoint Online, SkyDrive Pro, and Exchange Online content to any supported storage locations, now including on-premises file systems. In addition, configuration reports allow organizations to gain insight into the graphical topology of SharePoint Online for streamlined architecture planning, in addition to reporting and monitoring on who created, deleted, or modified content – as well as settings and security – across an entire SharePoint Online tenant.
