DeNet Debuts Decentralized Storage Infrastructure

DeNet is announcing the public launch of Storage Protocol v4, introducing decentralized storage infrastructure with a live global ecosystem.

At launch, the ecosystem includes more than 7 million registered users, 2,000-plus active Datakeepers providing storage capacity, 2.9 million Watcher Nodes validating data availability, and coverage across 194 countries, according to the company.

"DeNet Storage Protocol v4 is the result of nine years of engineering. Today we're opening that infrastructure to the public. More importantly, it launches with an ecosystem that's already operating at scale—millions of users, thousands of storage providers and a decentralized validation layer spanning 194 countries,” said Rafik Singatullin, co-founder of DeNet.

DeNet Storage Protocol v4 is the infrastructure layer responsible for distributing, encrypting, verifying, and retrieving data across a decentralized network. Built on top of this foundation are applications, storage providers, and validation services that together deliver decentralized storage at scale, the company said.

The first application powered by the protocol is DeNet Storage, a mobile app that enables users to securely store, manage, and share files without relying on centralized cloud providers.

Storage capacity is contributed by Datakeepers—independent storage providers operating across the network. Watcher Nodes form a decentralized mobile validation layer, continuously verifying that data remains available, intact, and accessible.

“The architecture is designed to support consumer storage, enterprise infrastructure and AI workloads, while enabling third-party developers to build additional services on the same decentralized foundation,” according to the company.
