EQT Partners with Context Labs to Propel Transparency of Critical Emissions Data

EQT Corporation, the independent natural gas producer with an evolutionary focus on the future, and Context Labs, the provider of integrated solutions that deliver context-driven insights, are announcing their strategic partnership which targets the further commercialization of verified low carbon intensity natural gas products and carbon credits, as well as increase transparency for critical emissions data.

EQT, armed with Context Labs’ tracking, reporting, and verification capabilities, will propel EQT’s mission toward reducing emissions and reaching net zero greenhouse gas (GHG). With Context Labs’ support in quantifying critical emissions data, providing operational analysis, and certifying natural gas production, EQT will be better equipped to mitigate emissions throughout a variety of industries.

“We have taken decisive actions to cut emissions across our operations. Now, with this specialized data, we can accelerate our path to net zero and reach our goals more efficiently,” said Toby Z. Rice, president and CEO of EQT. “EQT and Context Labs are leading the industry in capturing opportunities not just to decarbonize natural gas, but credibly validate our emissions reductions, which is a critical component to ensuring natural gas plays a leading role in the world’s energy evolution.”

The partnership further manifests as Context Labs’ Decarbonization-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform, designed to enable the certification and verification of the carbon intensity of EQT’s operating assets, according to the vendors. The goal for Context Labs’ DaaS is to enable full digital integration with EQT’s emissions data; this quantification is the catalyst for the creation of certified low-carbon intensity products.

Context Labs’ DaaS will additionally be registered in the company’s CLEAR Path Repository, allowing EQT to integrate carbon credit projects into CLEAR Path—ultimately supporting the production of asset-grade, data-backed carbon credits.

“I am thrilled to commence this partnership with EQT to advance our shared mission of accelerating climate change mitigation efforts, while ensuring the continued access to reliable and trusted energy resources around the globe,” shared Dan Harple, founder and CEO of Context Labs. “This partnership will comprehensively verify the most vital type of data—environmental data—rendering the highest quality, cryptographically secured, asset-grade, transparent certifications, and credits available on the market today. Together, with Toby Rice’s ambitious leadership at EQT, we will accelerate the global energy transition using empirical, context-driven insights.”
