ExaGrid, the industry’s only Tiered Backup Storage solution with Retention Time-Lock that includes a non-network-facing tier (creating a tiered air gap), delayed deletes, and immutability for ransomware recovery, is unveiling support for Rubrik. Now, ExaGrid’s Tiered Backup Storage appliances can be used as a target for Rubrik’s simplified backup software, driving a variety of cost and recovery efficiencies.
Rubrik’s enterprise backup solution consolidates disparate hardware and software components into a single data backup and recovery management plane for secure enterprise data backup and recovery, according to the company. Adding onto its variety of capabilities, ExaGrid improves Rubrik’s storage economics by working in conjunction with Rubrik’s compression and deduplication.
As a result, ExaGrid achieves an additional reduction of 3:1 to 10:1, as well as reduced storage by up to 90% with Rubrik’s compression and encryption. This leads to a combined deduplication of between 6:1 and 20:1—dependent on length of retention and data types.
Other advantages of utilizing ExaGrid Tiered Backup Storage with Rubrik include:

- Less WAN bandwidth to the disaster recovery (DR) site
