Experian Data Quality Launches Free Data Profiling Tool

Experian Data Quality, a provider of data quality software and services, has introduced a free Experian Data Profiler. The tool allows users to automatically analyze and explore up to 50 million records to discover and measure potential issues so they can prioritize their data quality investment decisions, avoid business problems caused by inaccurate data, and improve business processes.

By gaining a better understanding of their information, businesses can take more effectively use their data, according to  Thomas Schutz, senior vice president and general manager for Experian Data Quality. According to Schutz, the profiling tool allows any business to profile its data quickly and easily, without having to commit budget. By understanding trends, proactively managing data, and putting quantifiable metrics in place, organizations can then create a business case for data quality improvements.

Citing industry data that on average, U.S. organizations believe that 23% of their data is inaccurate, Experian says that the tool can enable users with no special skills to better understand the depth of their data quality issues, assess how those issues are impacting their business and take action to correct those problems.

Combining robust data profiling with high performance and an easy-to-use interface, Experian Data Quality allows businesses to gain insight, produce data quality reports and model correction rules more quickly. The tool brings together data from disparate sources and allows users to build customer rules for efficient data quality reporting.
