‘Holistic’ Set of BPM and Cloud Offerings Introduced by Software AG

Software AG launched a complementary collection of products and services designed specifically to align business and IT concerns. The vendor's process-driven IT modernization solution - which leverages the webMethods SOA registry and ARIS business process management suite - is intended to be a holistic, process-centric solution that adds a new process intelligence framework and best practices as well as specific targeted services.

The new bundle of offerings is intended to enable organizations to leverage their existing investments in Natural, Adabas and COBOL environments to gain a more complete view of their company's ecosystem, the vendor says.

Additional business process discovery and enterprise architecture capabilities from ARIS enable organizations to fully document and manage all of their IT assets. Once documented, transparency into these assets can help ensure process performance to help manage the change and planning process for modernizing the IT landscape. The assessment methodology also helps identify the hot spots and supports the decision-making process to ensure the right modernization priorities are set to maximize business value.

In a separate announcement, Software AG announced Software AG Cloud Ready, a set of products and services which includes modeling, process management, service-oriented architecture (SOA) and cloud integration offerings.

Software AG Cloud Ready includes process design and strategy, process management, integration and governance in the cloud. Users of webMethods BPMS, SOA and integration have the option to run their development, test, and production environments in the cloud, reducing the time to market and allowing for dynamic provisioning. ARIS users benefit from broad collaboration during the design, simulation, publishing and monitoring phases of process transformation projects. And when combined, webMethods and ARIS bring IT and business together for faster strategic advancement across the enterprise.

"As more organizations embrace SaaS and cloud-based solutions, the need to integrate cloud applications and data with on-premise applications grows," says Wolfram Jost, CTO for Software AG. "Software AG supports this ‘leave and leverage' approach by offering both integration and governance capabilities between any application residing on any platform. In addition our ARIS and webMethods customers will have the option to deploy our unified platform in the cloud, on-premises or with a hybrid of these scenarios."

Software AG Cloud Ready will be available in the third quarter of this year, the vendor says. For more information, go here.
