IOUG Member William Moshier Contributes to IOUG Cloud Computing Survey and Wins an iPad

IOUG ResearchWire has announced the winner of the 2010 IOUG Cloud Computing Survey sweepstakes - William Moshier, director of engineering, Absolute
Analysis. Moshier, who has been a member of the IOUG for the past 5 years, will receive an Apple iPad 16GB with WiFi.

The 2010 IOUG Cloud Computing Survey was conducted in August 2010 by Unisphere Research, a division of Information Today, Inc., and sponsored by  Oracle Corporation.

While there has been no shortage of excitement in the past year about public cloud computing, the study finds an even larger and more pervasive cloud revolution has been taking place; "private clouds" offer the same flexibility and incremental cost advantages to end users as public clouds, but with less perceived risk and greater assurances of security and accountability. The survey finds that private cloud formations are growing in many companies, and often outpacing adoption of public cloud services.

Every visitor to the IOUG site can download the Executive Summary of the research here. In addition, the full research report detailing the survey results is available to IOUG members.

IOUG members can access the full report on the same IOUG web page using their user name and password. Scroll to the bottom of that page for quick instructions.
