Informatica, a provider of data integration software, has introduced the 9.6 release of its data integration platform which is designed to deliver clean, safe and connected data up to five times faster for its enterprise customers.
According to the company, the Informatica 9.6 platform, with fully integrated agile development, delivers business value up to five times faster than traditional approaches, enabling business users to take a more active role. “The new functionality is really geared at enabling the business to participate more actively in the process of managing data,” said Todd Goldman, VP and GM for Enterprise Data Integration at Informatica.
The Informatica 9.6 platform can be used for a wide spectrum of data management projects - from minor individual projects to the largest of data consolidations - with three new platform packages which include the PowerCenter Standard, Advanced, and Premium Editions in addition to the new PowerCenter Big Data trial. The goal, the company says, is to synergize the efforts of individuals, technology and the implemented process to deliver ‘great data.
With volumes and varieties of data increasing rapidly in organizations, they need a comprehensive data integration platform for effective data management. ”Great data does not happen by accident, great data happens by design,” explained Goldman. “Great data happens by design, and design needs to happen in IT and the business, and the theme of 9.6 is enabling the business to become a collaborative partner in helping our customers build great data and as a result build great companies. “
Goldman also noted with this release Informatica provides a software development kit (SDK) that enables customers and partners to build their own connectors to other data sources.
