Informatica Corporation, a provider of data integration software and services, has announced the latest release of its Informatica Cloud solution. Offered as an integration platform-as-a-service (iPaaS), the latest release from Informatica features the Cloud Connector Toolkit, Cloud Integration Templates, and new enterprise features, all of which are part of the new Informatica Cloud Developer Edition and allow developers to rapidly embed end-user customizable integration logic and connectivity into cloud applications.
The Informatica Cloud Connector Toolkit gives developers access to a Java-based API, allowing them to rapidly build high-performance connectors that run as sources or targets within Informatica Cloud. "We want to make it very easy for our partners to build their own connectors and ultimately deliver them through our marketplace," explains Darren Cunningham, vice president of cloud marketing at Informatica. Eventually, he says, "you're going to see our customers building their own connectors themselves."
Another new feature in Informatica's latest Cloud solution are Cloud Integration Templates, which allow application developers and ISVs to design and run custom data workflows between applications in the cloud or on-premise, using Informatica Cloud. Additionally, new enterprise features make integration for hybrid enterprises simpler and more user-friendly. "We've been focusing on providing self-service tools for these divisions and departments to manage some of the integration themselves," states Cunningham. These features position Informatica Cloud solution as one of the most comprehensive cloud integration platform in the industry.
