Intel Teams with Unisys for Services to Expand End-User Benefits of New 2010 Intel Core vPro Technology

Unisys announced last week that it will team with longtime partner Intel to bring enterprise IT organizations and end users flexible new services-based support solutions that expand the benefits they can realize from the new 2010 Intel Core vPro Processor Family. Unisys is a key participant in Intel's virtual launch of the new generation of the Intel vPro processor technology, which simplifies remote monitoring and management of PCs and mobile computing devices.

"Unisys is committed to providing solutions, based on our best practices in service delivery, that enable information workers to get the most out of mobile devices based on best-in-class technologies such as the 2010 Intel Core vPro Processor Family," states Sam Gross, vice president, Global IT Outsourcing Solutions, Unisys. "Today's multi-generational workforce is technology-smart and wants to use devices that give them anywhere, anytime access to critical business information and applications. And they want support that maximizes their productivity wherever they prefer to work. Unisys and Intel will work together to help IT organizations give their workers the best end-user experience possible more efficiently and cost-effectively."

Unisys End-User Productivity Services and Unisys Converged Remote Infrastructure Management Suite service offering will provide expanded capabilities that make it easier for users to benefit from enhanced automated management and other core capabilities of the 2010 Intel Core vPro Processor Family.

For example, End-User Productivity Services will capitalize on vPro features such as Smart End-Point Virtualization to help end users access productivity software in a virtualized environment. According to Intel, these new features can reduce the time it takes to reimage a device with required software from 90 minutes to 5 minutes. And, through Unisys Converged Remote Infrastructure Management Suite, service professionals will be able to take advantage of new vPro capabilities such as built-in keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) remote control. This capability enables them to see what the end user sees and provide faster resolution for service incidents, allowing the information worker to get back to productive work more quickly. Secure delivery is a key feature of all Unisys end-user support services. New 2010 vPro smart security features - such as "poison-pill" anti-theft technology, which remotely disables a lost or stolen device once it attempts to connect to the network - will enable Unisys to provide end users with industrial-strength data protection anywhere they conduct business.
