Internap and Aerospike Accelerate Big Data Performance

Aerospike, a provider of a flash-optimized, in-memory NoSQL database, and Internap Network Services Corp, a provider of high performance hosting services, have joined forces to create an integrated solution that creates a “fast big data” platform.

The Internap-Aerospike joint solution allows developers to quickly deploy applications that demand predictable, high performance in a cost-effective hosted environment and is very easy to use. This technology combination also enables similar capabilities for other players in the marketplace that have similar desires and goals.

The combined Internap-Aerospike solution takes Internap’s high performance bare-metal cloud and merges it together with a pre-configured installation of Aerospike’s flash-optimized, in memory NoSQL database. “Aerospike provides the database software and Internap provides the high-performance engine. When we put it together what you end up seeing is the best of breed of this technology. Running as it is running in production, this is invaluable,” said Srini V. Srinivasan, Founder, vice president, Engineering & Operations at Aerospike, in an interview.

One of the biggest deployment challenges for organizations is the speed at which they can set up machines. “What Internap is bringing is the ease of use for high-performance machines. You get the best performance and ease of use,” Srinivasan said.

The joint Internap-Aerospike solution is a “win-win solution,” added Gopala Tumuluri, vice president of hosted services at Internap, noting that the joint solution makes new business models possible for customers. “Aerospike is bringing the fastest database technology platform and Internap is providing the infrastructure for it to write and deliver the results that the combined solution can deliver to customers.”
