Join Forces with IOUG and Become an #IOUGenius

John Matelski

The Independent Oracle Users Groups (IOUG) has been serving Oracle technologists and professionals for more than 20 years, and we are very pleased with how much the community has grown as well as how much IOUG has accomplished. Having said this, we will not rest on our laurels. There are many great opportunities that lie ahead of us. While we set the bar pretty high in 2014 with the establishment of the content-rich blog #IOUGenius, an increased number of Master Classes offered across the nation and a truly inspirational COLLABORATE 14, you’ll be very pleased with what IOUG has in store for 2015.

In 2015, our marquee event is COLLABORATE 15 – IOUG Forum. The theme for this event is “Join Forces and Become an #IOUGenius.” There are so many brilliant Oracle technologists and professionals that are IOUG members and have contributed to the vast amount of user-focused content available at IOUG and COLLABORATE. Whether you are just starting in your career or already well on your way to being an #IOUGenius, COLLABORATE 15 – IOUG Forum is a great opportunity to develop your career, learn how to protect your organization’s data and improve performance and generate new business opportunities.

Our Conference Committee has outdone themselves with an all-star lineup of speakers focused on hot topics such as Oracle Database 12c, Big Data and business intelligence, Cloud computing, Engineered Systems, and WebCenter – plus “must have” topics like database performance tuning and High Availability. Our speakers represent the best independent thought leadership and expertise in the Oracle community, and we cannot thank them enough for their contributions.

Based on the feedback we received from attendees and volunteers, we are making some structural changes to COLLABORATE 15 while maintaining the offerings attendees have come to know and love:

  • Our great Pre-Conference Workshops are still available on Sunday and still absolutely free for IOUG attendees.
  • Following COLLABORATE 14’s footsteps, our Monday program will include Expert Technical Sessions—2-hour advanced sessions that will serve as a fantastic launch pad for the rest of the week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be jam-packed with everything you could want for sessions on the topics that matter to you.
  • This year’s Strategic Leadership Program is geared toward the Senior DBAs, IT Managers, and seasoned IT professionals interested in learning how to get a seat at the table with senior IT management and contribute to dialogues around corporate strategy. You’ll hear from veteran DBAs, CEOs, and senior executives on how they practice leadership while also sharing your own experiences and learning from your fellow attendees. This program is exclusively available to COLLABORATE 15 – IOUG Forum attendees and seats are limited. Only those that have pre-registered will be guaranteed a seat.
  • The fun will continue throughout the week, from our Sunday Night Welcome Reception to our IOUG Membership Booth (#1203) activities. Additionally, Erik Wahl will be our keynote. Erik is an internationally recognized graffiti artist, #1 best-selling author and entrepreneur. Creativity is not reserved for the chosen few – the poets, the painters, the writers. It is in all of us, and Erik will help you rediscover the keys to unlock your creative potential! This will be a unique experience that you will not want to miss.

Thank you again for joining us at COLLABORATE 15 – IOUG Forum
