Kalido and Teradata Provide Joint Solution for Accelerated Data Warehouse Deployment

Data analytics vendor Teradata and information management software provider Kalido have announced a new joint solution that they say  will allow customers to build or expand a data warehouse in 90 days or less, providing deeper analytics to users for improved business decision-making. This solution combines the Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance with the Kalido Information Engine, providing customers with a streamlined data consolidation tool that aggregates disparate data into a single unified platform.

The joint solution from Kalido and Teradata is intended to permit users to quickly set up new subject areas in a scalable data warehouse environment. "It gives you a way to really quickly bring other subject matter in, extend the Kalido business model, and it really reduces the amount of time it takes to get to a much higher definition and more integrated reporting," explains Allen Johnson, vice president of marketing and channels at Kalido, adding that, "agile implementation is what our software is all about." Kalido Information Engine allows users to take existing data models and convert them into Kalido Business Information Models, thereby increasing its speed and agility.

By consolidating their data into a single integrated platform, businesses can reduce information management costs and extend the value of their data warehouse investment. Kalido's migration accelerators provide a recommended configuration that helps businesses migrate and consolidate "into a data mart or data warehouse on a relatively low-cost appliance and then scale up as needed," Johnson says. At a price point below $500,000, the joint Kalido and Teradata solution is a fraction of the cost of enterprise-class warehouses, the companies say.
