Latest Starburst Native Connector in Tableau Cloud Delivers Data-Driven Insights

Starburst, the provider of efficient analytics engines, is unveiling the availability of its latest native connector for Tableau Cloud, bringing Starburst’s SaaS offering, Starburst Galaxy, and its self-managed Starburst Enterprise platform to Tableau customers.

The inspiration for the latest Starburst connector was drawn from the current distributed data landscape needing technology that empowers fast and simple access to data, as well as critical insights regarding users’ data environments, which consists of a variety of different sources.

To unify these pressing needs and disparate sources, the Starburst connector enables Tableau Cloud users to access distributed datasets throughout a variety of data sources. Whether the data source is data lakes, data warehouses, streaming systems, or relational database systems, the connector combines the unique capabilities of both Starburst and Tableau.

"Tableau brings analytics everywhere, for everyone," said Francois Ajenstat, chief product officer at Tableau. "Tableau Cloud brings fast, flexible, and easy analytics for organizations of all sizes. By combining the power of Tableau Cloud with the flexibility of Starburst, customers are able to discover new insights, unlock the full potential of their data, and transform their business."

Starburst enables a comprehensive view of an enterprise by breaking down established silos, amplifying the way data is securely delivered throughout the business. As a result, insights are more easily and readily accessed, allowing enterprises to leverage the connector to drive data-based business decisions.

"Access, connectivity, and optionality are paramount as organizations make the transition to modern cloud analytics," said Justin Borgman, co-founder and CEO of Starburst. "With existing connectors for Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep Builder, and Tableau Server, Starburst customers have benefited greatly from the power of Tableau's leading analytics platform. This new native connector brings that same power to the cloud, fueling the modern analytics behind today's digitally-driven organizations."

The Starburst connector is now available within Tableau Cloud, requiring no further action or configuration from the end-user in Starburst. Users can easily activate a Tableau Cloud site, configure an authentication protocol, and securely publish dashboards that can employ data from several sources with a few clicks, according to the vendor.
