The two companies are collaborating in the area of business analytics and enterprise-grade Hadoop for customer environments. With the partnership, MapR and SAS aim to give their customers a competitive advantage when it comes to data by leveraging the business analytics of SAS and the MapR platform.
SAS analytics software combined with MapR will help data scientists and analysts gain new business insights from their Hadoop-based data, according to the companies. “If I were to summarize the journey the two companies are on, it is about getting data results bigger and faster,” explained Jack Norris, CMO, MapR Technologies. The partnership of both organizations will allow for additional flexibility and control of Hadoop-based data.
